Children and the young at heart can have some fun at the lantern-making workshops. Organised by Kriket Broadhurst who runs a Jewellery Store on Church Street, these will be held on the day and in the run up to the event and guarantee that everyone will walk away with a fabulous lantern fit for the best lantern competition as well as the lantern parade. Judging for this competition as well as a best fancy dress competition will take place at 4.30pm at the David Hughes Centre. Beaumaris Gaol and Courtroom will also be open so visitors can have a fascinating insight into the world of the prisoner in Victorian times. The grand finale is the lantern parade with Queen Victoria, Mr Brown and a Piper at 6pm. Starting at the seafront side of the Bulkeley Hotel this proceeds up to White Lion Square for the prize giving followed by some rousing carol singing.
